Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, widely known as MzVee, stands as a beacon in Ghana's music landscape. Born on June 23, 1992, this versatile artist has made waves as a singer, specializing in afropop, dancehall, and R&B genres. Her debut solo album not only showcased her extraordinary talent but also featured chart-topping singles like 'Borkor Borkor,' 'Natural Girl,' and 'Dancehall Queen.' Originating from Accra, MzVee emerged into the world of music under the wing of Lynx Entertainment, where she clinched the coveted New Artiste of the Year award at the 2015 Ghana Music Awards. Beyond her musical prowess, MzVee is known for her distinctive natural African hair, and her anthem 'Natural Girl' has become an inspiration for young girls celebrating their natural beauty.


MzVee's journey to stardom continued to ascend, earning her critical acclaim and accolades, such as 'Best Female Vocalist of the Year' at the 2015 Ghanaian dancehall awards, BASS awards. Her unique blend of afropop, R&B, and dancehall garnered her a nomination in the 'Best International New Artist' category at the BET Awards 2015, marking her as a rising star on the global stage.


Not only a musical powerhouse, MzVee's impact extends to social causes. In 2015, she took on the role of World Bank Ambassador for the 'End Extreme Poverty Campaign,' releasing the campaign song 'End Poverty' and joining the league of distinguished artists who contributed to the cause. In the face of challenges, MzVee's resilience shines. After a hiatus from the music industry due to personal struggles, she made a triumphant return, releasing the album 'inVeencible' in 2020, featuring collaborations with industry heavyweights.


In 2022, MzVee celebrated her 10th year as a musician and her 30th birthday with the release of her fifth album, '10 Thirty.' This ten-track masterpiece features collaborations with Nigerian and Ghanaian musicians, solidifying MzVee's status as a musical luminary.


Her musical style, a fusion of afropop, R&B, and dancehall, earned her nominations and awards, including the Best Female Artist Honour at the Ghana Music Honours in 2017. MzVee's remarkable journey continues to inspire and pave the way for future generations in Ghana's dynamic music industry.
