Ruth Silverio | Ontario | Be Kind, Forgiving & Compassionate

Stylist | Youtuber | Thriftier | Eco - Reseller

In our society people are afraid of being judged. First, you must give yourself the chance to know who you are and what you stand for! I think style is an amazing tool, wearing clothes with solid structure and finding your fashion expression will always turn heads, while changing the narrative. I always believe style is so much about confidence and owning and feeling good about who we are and how we show up.

My name is Ruth Silverio. I am an Afro-Latina. I am originally from the Dominican Republic. However, Canada is my new home now. I love the people, the diversity and the multinationalism here. I am a single mother of three beautiful children who I adore so much. I once worked in a financial institution and later ventured out to follow my long waiting dream – fashion (styling, thrifting etc). That said, I never really fit into today’s narrative. I am far from a stay-at-home-mom or a woman whose career is everything. I appreciate what inspires me and one is my community!

Please, do reach out via my social media handles below. I am open for collaborations, fashion or style consulting, fashion speaking engagements etc.

What were the biggest initial hurdles and how did you overcome them?

One of the hurdles I faced in the beginning when I first started, was finding balance (work, time management, family etc). However, I am grateful for the support from friends and other social media influencers.

What advice would you give to an upcoming youth or talents locally and internationally? My advice to the youth is, be kind, forgiving and compassionate. Consciously surround yourself with people who challenge you, inspire and intrigue you. Give yourself time to heal from the past and discover who you are and then slowly rebuild with intention.
