Born in the verdant southern region of Ghana, Prince's childhood was characterized by an insatiable curiosity and a boundless imagination. Even at a young age, he exhibited a keen interest in science and exploration. One pivotal moment came at the age of 12 when Ghana's discovery of oil sparked his curiosity. Undeterred by the lack of oil in his backyard, Prince stumbled upon a white substance, igniting a desire to harness unconventional sources of energy. Though his quest for oil may have been futile, it planted the seeds of innovation that would shape his future endeavors.
Throughout his formative years, Prince's passion for renewable energy continued to blossom. While attending Mfantsipim School, an article about Brazil's use of sugarcane to produce bioethanol fuel captured his imagination, laying the foundation for his future aspirations. Prince's journey into the world of renewable energy took flight during his tenure at the University of Mines and Technology in Tarkwa. Determined to pursue his passion, he boldly declared his intentions to focus on renewable energy, earning him the affectionate nickname "Green Energy" among his peers.
However, it was Prince's involvement in the Africa Energy Generation Prize that served as a catalyst for his entrepreneurial ambitions. Despite facing adversity, including the tragic loss of a mentor to a gas explosion, Prince remained undeterred in his mission to revolutionize clean cooking solutions and renewable energy access.
In 2019, Prince co-founded Econexus Ventures Limited, a pioneering social enterprise dedicated to transforming agricultural waste into clean-burning bioethanol fuel. With a focus on affordability, safety, and sustainability, Econexus is bridging the gap between traditional cooking fuels and modern, environmentally-friendly alternatives. Prince's vision extends beyond mere business success; he envisions a future where clean cooking solutions are accessible to every household across Africa.
