Meet Godfred Kwei Blankson, a trailblazer in the world of fintech and business development, whose career is as exciting as it is inspiring. With a wealth of experience spanning telecoms, fintech, FMCG, and retail product distribution across Ghana and Africa, Godfred is currently the Controller and Fintech Business Development Officer at Mobile Money Limited, a subsidiary of MTN. In this role, he drives revenue through merchant acquisition, MoMo integrations, and strategic partnerships with corporate institutions, banks, and third-party fintech partners, adding immense value to his clients' businesses. Before his current role, Godfred was the Regional Manager for Sales & Distribution at Vodafone Ghana, where he also served as Acting Business Development Manager for Mobile Financial Services in the Northern Sector. He spearheaded the route-to-market strategy for Vodafone Cash, building a robust agent and merchant network, and significantly boosting Vodafone Cash subscriptions with a keen focus on free MMI and P2P services.
Godfred’s journey also saw him at TECNO Mobile as the Territory and Channels Development Manager. Between 2016 and 2018, he transformed TECNO Mobile into Ghana's number-one preferred mobile phone brand by leading sales transformation and partnership engagements with mobile network operators to market TECNO's flagship devices across retail shops in the country.
His earlier roles include Enterprise Sales Manager at Dimension Data, where he managed key client relationships, developed new products, and ensured stellar customer satisfaction. At Millicom (Tigo), he improved SME revenue and retention, onboarded thousands of public sector workers onto the mobile money platform, and boosted cash revenue significantly.
Godfred's academic journey is as impressive as his career. He holds a Master of Arts in Management Studies from the University for Development Studies and has completed professional courses in telecommunications, effective leadership, team development, and project management from Vodafone University UK. Additionally, he holds certificates in business, management, marketing, and related support services from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Central University.
In 2018, leveraging his dynamic skill set and passion for events, Godfred founded K’n’M Events, providing event management, protocol services, and consultancy for special events. His charisma and professionalism ensure that every corporate event he handles is memorable and engaging.
