"One day, you will recount the tale of how you triumphed over the challenges you faced, and it will serve as a guide for someone else's survival. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Edith Edem Agbeli, commonly known as Mzjudy. Following a life-altering surgery, I established the website www.everything-me.com. While my professional background lies in accounting, I also work as a relationship coach, a consultant specializing in cost reduction strategies, a writer, and a co-host on the show 'Keeping It Real' on 3fm, 92.7. I was born into a small family, the youngest and third child. Throughout my upbringing, my father harbored hopes of me becoming a doctor, specifically a surgeon. However, my fear of needles, injections, and blood led me to reconsider that path. Instead, I pursued a Bachelor's degree in Commerce at the University of Cape Coast. Subsequently, I completed my master's degree, focusing on Business Consultancy and Enterprise Risk Management at KNUST, along with additional studies in project management and an MBA. While I primarily practiced as a cost reduction strategist, I continually pursued further education to enhance my expertise in the field.

As a child, storytelling always captivated me. I penned my first story at the tender age of 8 and maintained a private diary to jot down my ideas. During my university years, I discreetly contributed to newspapers, which is how the moniker 'Mzjudy' originated. However, upon entering university, I set writing aside to concentrate on my studies, and as a consequence, I experienced writer's block. Years later, following my surgery, I rediscovered my passion for writing and decided to establish my website to share my eclectic collection of poems, Bible stories, and whatever else came to mind. Additionally, I started writing articles for BFT. Thus far, it has proven to be an excellent stress reliever for me and a means to bring smiles and knowledge to others.

What were the biggest initial hurdles you faced and how did you overcome them?

I believe when we Switch our mentality from "I'm broken and helpless" to “I’m growing and healing” we will later testify to how quickly our life changes for the better. The biggest initial hurdles I faced were both personal and professional. Personally, I had to overcome the fear and uncertainty that arose from undergoing a challenging and life-changing surgery which deformed my face and confidence. It was a difficult and daunting experience that tested my resilience and pushed me out of my comfort zone. However, I refused to let fear paralyze me. Instead, I focused on staying positive, seeking support from loved ones, and maintaining a determined mindset to overcome the hurdles.

Professionally, one of the major challenges I encountered was transitioning from being an accountant to establishing myself as a successful writer, relationship coach, and consultant. It required building a brand and credibility in new fields while also proving my expertise to potential clients and readers. To overcome this hurdle, I dedicated myself to continuous learning and professional development.

I invested my time and effort in acquiring new skills, obtaining relevant certifications, and expanding my knowledge base. Persistence and perseverance are always key in overcoming these hurdles. It was essential to maintain a positive mindset, stay focused on my goals, and adapt to any challenges that arose along the way. By embracing a growth mindset and remaining committed to my vision, I was able to overcome these initial hurdles and continue to progress in my personal and professional journey. I am not much of a talker but more of a writer. Co-hosting a show hasn’t been an easy journeys either but we will surely get there.

What were the lessons learnt to motivate others?

Embrace resilience: Life is full of ups and downs, and it's important to develop resilience in the face of adversity. I have learned that setbacks and obstacles are not roadblocks but opportunities for growth. By cultivating resilience, we can bounce back stronger and more determined to achieve our goals.

Believe in yourself: Self-belief is a powerful tool that can propel us forward. Throughout my journey, I discovered the importance of believing in my abilities and trusting that I have what it takes to overcome obstacles. When we have confidence in ourselves, we can tap into our full potential and accomplish remarkable things.

Embrace continuous learning: The willingness to learn and grow is vital in overcoming hurdles. I have found that by constantly seeking knowledge, acquiring new skills, and staying open to new perspectives, we can adapt to changing circumstances and find innovative solutions to challenges. Continuous learning enables personal and professional development and empowers us to overcome obstacles with confidence.

Share your story: Our experiences have the power to inspire and motivate others. By sharing our stories of triumph and resilience, we can provide hope and guidance to those who may be going through similar struggles. Through my website, articles, and various platforms, I aim to use my own journey as a source of motivation and encouragement for others, showing them that they are not alone and that they too have the strength to overcome.

Ultimately, the lessons I have learned boil down to embracing challenges, believing in oneself, seeking support, nurturing a growth mindset, and sharing our stories to inspire others. By adopting these lessons, individuals can find the motivation and resilience to navigate their own obstacles and achieve their dreams."
