Footballer (Soccer): Chelsea FC & Jamaica National Team | Promising Talent
Dujuan Odile Richards, born on November 10, 2005, in Port Royal, Jamaica, is a rising football sensation making waves both internationally and with Chelsea. Standing tall at 6 feet 2 inches, this forward has already left a mark on the field. Dujuan began his football journey at the Phoenix Football Academy at the young age of eleven. He showcased his skills representing Kingston College in Jamaica's Manning Cup and later joined Brooke House College’s football academy in England. His talent shone on European tours, catching the eye of Premier League side Newcastle United during a trial in February 2023. However, destiny had a different plan, leading him to sign a pre-contract deal with Chelsea in March 2023. The much-anticipated move to Stamford Bridge was confirmed in January 2024.
Dujuan's international career is equally impressive. His English roots, courtesy of his grandmother, made him eligible to represent England, but he chose to don the colors of his homeland. He made his debut for the Jamaican national team in March 2023, displaying a maturity beyond his years. In the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup, he etched his name in history as the youngest goalscorer for Jamaica.
Hailing from a family deeply rooted in sports, Dujuan inherits the athleticism. His uncles, Nick in the NBA and O'Neil in cricket, set the stage for his own achievements. Beyond the football pitch, he celebrated his 18th birthday in November, marking a significant milestone in his professional journey.
Dujuan's dream became a reality when he officially signed for Chelsea from the Phoenix Academy. Training with the first-team squad during the pre-season tour of the USA, he expressed his excitement, stating, "My dream was always to sign a professional contract, and to have the chance to do that here at Chelsea, it’s difficult to put into words the emotions. I just can’t wait to get started.
" A promising talent, Dujuan Richards is poised to make his mark on the global football stage, representing Chelsea and Jamaica with pride. Welcome to Chelsea, Dujuan!
