Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics and humanitarian efforts, epitomizes the essence of service and leadership. As a Member of Parliament representing the Klottey-Korle Constituency, she continues to make significant strides in advocating for her constituents and championing various causes close to her heart. Born in Accra, Ghana, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings is the eldest daughter of Ghana's first President under the 4th Republic, Jerry Rawlings, and former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman. Raised in a politically active household, she developed a passion for public service from a young age. After completing her basic education at the North Ridge Lyceum and Achimota School, she graduated from Wesley Girls High School in Cape Coast. Zanetor pursued her higher education at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, where she obtained her medical degree. Additionally, she acquired certifications in defense management and conflict and crisis management from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College. Furthering her commitment to peace and security, she earned a Master's Degree in Conflict, Peace, and Security from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping and Training Centre.


Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings embarked on her medical career, initially practicing in general medicine. However, her dedication extended beyond the confines of the clinic as she actively engaged in initiatives promoting women's and children's rights and advancing sanitation efforts across Ghana. Her tireless efforts earned her recognition as a compassionate leader and advocate for social change.


Demonstrating her unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes, Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings has spearheaded numerous relief efforts to support communities in need.


Following the devastating Goil Oil fire and flood disaster in June 2015, she led a relief mission to provide assistance to the affected individuals and families.


Additionally, her philanthropic endeavors include the construction of vital infrastructure, such as bridges, to enhance accessibility and mitigate environmental risks in vulnerable communities.


While initially maintaining a low political profile, Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings heeded the call for greater civic engagement and entered the political arena. Amidst speculation surrounding her intentions, she refuted claims of using her relief efforts for political gain, emphasizing her commitment to serving the public good. In September 2015, she officially filed her nomination papers to contest the Korle Klottey parliamentary primaries, marking the beginning of her political journey.


Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings' political aspirations culminated in her successful bid for the Korley Klottey constituency in the Greater Accra Region. Earning widespread support from constituents, she secured victory in both the primaries and the subsequent general elections.


As an MP, she has dedicated herself to addressing critical issues facing her constituency, serving on prominent parliamentary committees focused on gender, children, environment, science, and technology.


With an unwavering commitment to public service and a vision for a brighter future, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings continues to inspire hope and effect positive change in Ghana and beyond.
