Disability Advocate | Social Worker | Human Rights Commissioner of the Republic of Zambia
Meet Christine Chama, a remarkable Disability Advocate, Social Worker, and Human Rights Commissioner of the Republic of Zambia. Appointed on June 27, 2022, by President Hakainde Hichilema, she brings a wealth of passion and commitment to her role. Christine earned her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Development Studies with Sociology from the University of Zambia, showcasing her dedication to understanding and addressing societal issues. Her commitment goes beyond titles, as she envisions positive change, particularly in the lives of persons with special needs. Christine firmly believes in being the change she wants to see. "I'm passionate about seeing positive change, especially in the lives of persons with special needs. Therefore, I believe, for me to see that change, I should first be the change," she expressed.
Christine Chama's leadership extends to her roles as the former President of the University of Zambia Development Studies Association (UNZADESA) and the former Student Representative for learners with disabilities.
With a heart devoted to making a difference, she continues to inspire and advocate for a more inclusive and equitable society in Zambia.
