Hi everyone! My name is Amalia and you may know me from Triple Charm, the music group I’m in with my sisters! We sing, dance, create content and write music together. But my journey in entertainment began before Triple Charm. I started dancing at 2, singing at 6, and was in my first professional show at a local theater at 8 years old. In 2019, my sisters and I formed Triple Charm and started creating content on social media in 2020. Then last month, we officially launched individual social media accounts. My first YouTube Short went viral and reached over 180 million views, and I grew by 4 million subscribers in 4 days! We now have amassed over 13 million followers across all platforms. This has been such an amazing journey so far, and we are just getting started.
What were the biggest initial hurdles you faced and how did you overcome them?
When we first started Triple Charm, the biggest hurdle was finding an audience for our music. Our goal since day one has always been to spread positivity and the best way we knew how to do this was through performing. What we were initially unsure of was how we were going to get our music out there. When we first started social media we had slow growth, and each follower we gained was from reaching out to them individually by liking and commenting on their posts. We kept doing this diligently on Instagram until Reels became available in 2021. This was when we really started to take off and went from 7,000 to 1.1 million followers by posting daily. On YouTube we grew the same way with the help of Shorts, going from basically zero to 5 million subscribers in a year! Consistency is key for growth and that is something I have learned through this process.
What advice do you have for young people locally and internationally who are just starting out in their careers or pursuing their passions?
The best advice I could give to anyone starting out in a new career or pursuing their passion is to be persistent and never give up. I know it sounds cliche but it is honestly so important to believe in yourself and your goal. At times it will be hard and you may want to just give in, but keep pushing through because it will pay off! Hard work and dedication can take you so far, so believe in yourself and go after it no matter what!
