Addison M. Darrell, an accomplished medical professional, combines leadership, medicine, and global health advocacy. Recently completing an extensive medical school journey, Addison reflects on the challenges and triumphs that shaped this rollercoaster experience. Holding five demanding leadership roles in student-led organizations and groups, she navigated academic rigors, personal development, and numerous social engagements with gratitude for God's grace. Addison's commitment to global health issues, particularly those aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlights her passion for addressing health disparities in vulnerable nations. Her interest extends to pediatrics and cardiology, demonstrating a holistic approach to healthcare.

In her role as a Development Assistant at IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students Association), Addison actively seeks and applies for grants, supports ethical fundraising, and ensures financial sustainability for member institutions. Her expertise in presentations, report writing, budget management, and organizational skills contribute to impactful initiatives.


Noteworthy is Addison's presidency at the Federation of Ghana Medical Students Associations, where she served as the chief spokesperson, leader, and coordinator of various national and international initiatives. Her roles, including Secretary General and Project Team Lead, underscore her dedication to effective administration and program execution. As a delegate for IFMSA, Addison represented the organization at the Open Education Conference, emphasizing equity and inclusion in global educational initiatives.


Her internship at Cantonments Police Hospital honed clinical practices, including basic first aid treatments, patient vital monitoring, and post-operation care. Addison's educational journey at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, reflects her commitment to promoting good health through various committees and activities. Her WASSCE Certificate in General Science with Distinction and engagement in extracurricular activities showcase her academic and holistic approach to education.


Volunteering with organizations like Verifie Ghana and the Association of Parents of Children with Kidney Disease highlights Addison's dedication to community health and social causes. Inducted as a qualified medical doctor on October 21st, 2023, Addison sees this milestone as a stepping stone to global impact. Her recent participation in the 76th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland, aligns with her goal to make a difference on both local and international scales. Addison M. Darrell's journey exemplifies a purpose-driven commitment to advancing healthcare and addressing global health challenges.
