https://sharamhair.com/ I am known professionally as Sharam Diniz, an Angolan-Portuguese fashion model and an entrepreneur. I have also had the privilege to appear or play a vital role in Victoria's Secret Fashion Show(s); worked with Olivier Rousteing and Tom Ford. I was born and raised in Luanda, the capital of Angola. In 2010, I won the Portuguese competition Supermodel of the World. I put on my first extension all by myself when I was just 15 years old. It was a tremendous experience. After I had the opportunity of working with some of the best hairstylists in the fashion industry, I can say that I gained some experience along the way with great as well as not so good episodes (hair loss and damage) and my fascination for a consistent easy change made me jump into it. I believe every woman should feel confident about herself and the way she looks and present herself to the public on her daily routine. Moving forward, with over a decade of experience in the rarified world of high fashion, I have witnessed the world's top hair stylists perform their magic on my hair. I have seen the best of the best, experiencing virtually every type pf extension, colouring, and application process on my own hair. I received a literal PhD (Perfect Hair Design) in "hair extension" education. My passion today is to take my extensive knowledge and create the highest quality line of human hair extension products on the market. I want every women to feel the same transformative experience I had. I am particularly sensitive to the challenges women face as they navigate the choices and challenges involved with purchasing quality hair extensions. My goal, is for women of all hair types to feel comfortable and beautiful wearing my products. I feel it is very important that women have as much flexibility and choice in how they decide to project their own personal style. And most importantly, to enjoy Sharamhair (my gift) in their own individual way.
What were the biggest initial hurdles to building your business and how did you overcome them?
I am still working on them momentarily as we speak, as a business person you always want to provide the best but in order to find you, you definitely have to go through a whole process of failures. The most important thing, is to believe and be motivated to solve the issues instead of focusing on the bad side of it and that’s exactly what I am doing. Taking one step at a time.
What books are you currently reading? And your recommendation for entrepreneurs to read?
I'm currently reading "How to own your Own mind" from Napoleon Hill.
Did you ever deal with contention from your family and friends concerning your entrepreneurial pursuits?
How did you handle it? What would you do differently in hindsight?
As my dad would say “family are our friends; for obligation’. They will always feel have the right, to say anything to you or have ownership. I do not blame them. But in order to be helped, we ought to help ourselves too. Not getting comfortable. That also means being there and build from scratch otherwise is waste of your energy, time and money.
What would you say was the single most influential factor in your business success?
Showing how much fun it is to change your look in such a short process, and how this affects your energy and self esteem on your day-to-day routine.
What do you know today that you wish you would have known when you first got started as an entrepreneur?
In order to succeed I needed a strong team and good partnerships. I won't get far all by myself.
What advice would you give to an upcoming entrepreneur locally and internationally?
Before starting a business make sure you do a business plan, build a structure and get the right resources before jumping into it.
