I am and always fascinated - by the fashion industry. I started drawing at the age 3 and at 6 all I wanted to be was a fashion designer. I wasn’t exactly sure but I knew inwardly that, eventually something to do with making clothes for people. I have always had this dream growing up grew up. Therefore, I ended up taking a couple of courses here and there - modelling, sewing and designing. That reaffirmed my desire and choices. At the age of 19, I completed my long - awaiting degree in Fashion Design, one of the most memorable moments in my life. I worked in few companies where I gained important experience and learned a lot. However, my gut feeling kept pushing me to create and innovate something but I still didn’t know what. Fast forward, 3 years ago I designed a lingerie because my mother had taken a designing course and was excited to collaborate. I started posting some of these drawings on Instagram, surprisedly enough - we had lot of likes - the power of social media. That really shined a light, what was clearly an opportunity here for my mother and I. I fell in love with the world of lace, bulges, tulle. Through some divine ways we had few people interested in and requesting my drawings. My mother and I decided it was time to finally embark on this project. That is how Bona Frigga was born. Endless possibilities and I am grateful to have my mom bedside me throughout this journey!
What were the biggest initial hurdles to building your business and how did you overcome them?
My biggest obstacle was fear. But when you take the initiative, you can find alternatives to overcome those obstacles.
What books are you currently reading? And your recommendation for entrepreneurs to read?
I’m not currently reading business books. I instead rely on content like videos and expert articles.
Did you ever deal with contention from your family and friends concerning your entrepreneurial pursuits?
How did you handle it? What would you do differently in hindsight?
I received a lot of support from my friends and family. If I could change anything, it would be to plan adequately.
What would you say was the single most influential factor in your business success?
The affection and attention in every detail and great love we have for our business.
What do you know today that you wish you would have known when you first got started as an entrepreneur?
That you can plan and create various possible situations in your mind, but something will always get out of control. But that's normal, and it's ok.
What advice would you give to an upcoming entrepreneur locally and internationally?
Face your fears and dream big and find ways to make those dreams come true.
