MarQuis Trill | California | Don’t Lose Focus!!

Born in the Los Angeles, California. Brought up by a single mother in the troubling streets of L.A. until high school, she uprooted me and relocated to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, in Texas. As many can agree, relocating to a new place opens up an opportunity to start all over meaning new friends, new lifestyle and new hobbies etc. However, I ended up picking up on basketball and was offered scholarships from several big Universities in Texas. I received a full ride scholarship to Prairie View A&M University playing Basketball. 40 minutes from Houston,Texas. Fast forward, I know and understand that developing social media presence isn't simple, Everyone wants to gain social media recognition for their business or brand. I am grateful to attest that, I received recognition for my brand by posting great tweets and content via my social media outlets. Some of these contents were songs I developed or created online - attracting millions views & downloads independently, with 2.1 million followers on Twitter, That was a tremendous breakthrough. Not forgetting 100 million views on YouTube as a public figure.. This opportunity changed the or my landscape, in other words my contents attracted many offers to develop various marketing campaigns for different artists to fortune 500 companies. Due to consistency in my content delivery for my stakeholders I can boldly say I am a marketing and entertainment MOGUL!! Therefore, I encourage everyone to chase their dreams and bring your ideas or concepts hidden up there to reality.

What ignited the spark in you to start a new business venture or to make significant changes in an existing business? How did the idea for your business come about?

My passion for wanting to help others was my main reason for starting my brand Entertainment - 258 Agency Inc. & The World Cares Organization Inc. Interestingly, few people kept wondering how I became so successful. The most important thing was helping others in the long term - bringing their vision to reality.

What were the biggest initial hurdles to building your business and how did you overcome them?

Brainstorming my idea concept and brining them to life, meaning from logo design, color, filing my business, funding, creating website, social media accounts and actually doing what I envision was a little difficult. However, the hardest part was marketing, but luckily for me that’s what I’m great or good at.

What books are you currently reading? And your recommendation for entrepreneurs to read?

Power, Mastery by Robert Greene. I recommend all entrepreneur to read the bible not for religions purposes but for life rules and understanding.

How did you handle it? What would you do differently in hindsight?

I dealt with contention pretty much every time, I realized that nobody can understand your vision, it’s up to you to deal with all the negativity, misunderstanding from family and friends. I find myself buried in work, keeps me from thinking about everything around me. However, I made sure every accomplishment I had every segment I celebrate by going out with family or friends.

What would you say was the single most influential factor in your business success?

I do have more than one single factors. It’s a combination of customer service, clientele and amazing work ethic (my portfolio) - that attracts more customers.

What do you know today that you wish you would have known when you first got started as an entrepreneur?

You have to stay consistent, never give up no matter what, even if you’re having a hard time in life, no funds or lost in life. Just keep going. I believe you can, the spirits will carry you through.

What advice would you give to an upcoming entrepreneur locally and internationally?

Don’t listen to anybody but yourself when it comes to doing what you feel are your passion and dream. Find a way to make things happen fast and don’t lose focus. Don’t expect other to help you with your dreams in most cases, surround yourself around others that think like you and also that are better than you. Keep learning new innovative to approach your business and life, read, research and study as much as possible.
