I actually got the fire to start my Company from two of my best friends and one of them just so happens to be a personal trainer who asked me have I ever done meal prepping before I stated to him that I didn’t but I did my research on it for a couple of weeks preparing his meals for a week and it kind of spread like wild fire just from him alone. I started picking up some of his clientele who he trains and word-of-mouth became steady clientele and catering so I started believing that I was onto something so I got better I continue to push myself and two years later here I am if it wasn’t for their extra push in seeing something in me that I didn’t see it myself I wouldn’t be here so I’m forever grateful to them
What were the biggest initial hurdles to building your business and how did you overcome them?
My biggest hurdles I would have to say was telling myself I wasn’t ready or that I couldn’t start my own business because the market was so saturated but I had to really sit down and think if that were true there wouldn’t be so many options in grocery stores and shopping malls etc. etc. In anything people love options so not only is works for you for you just because there are 1 million other cooks or shaves my taste and style are completely different and unconventional than others and people have surprisingly loved that about me so that’s how I overcame getting over that hump of telling myself I can’t instead of just doing
Did you ever deal with contention from your family and friends concerning your entrepreneurial pursuits? How did you handle it? What would you do differently in hindsight?
Honestly I would have to say no my family has been supportive even though from a distance and as far as my friends those who know my past from where I was and to where I am now those who matter support me all the way even people who I wouldn’t have expected everyone else has either switched up or was meant to be cut out of my life for growth purposes though for the most part my smaller circle has been very supportive. If I could do something differently that would be to stop searching for the moment of trying to please and make someone proud but never getting that satisfaction ever because some people don’t know how to be supportive some people don’t want to see you win so I would do it for me as I have been instead of trying to do for others
What would you say was the single most influential factor in your business success?
Honestly I would have to say God he has always kept me in any shape form or fashion no matter what I may go through he has been outshining factor always he’s place people in my life who have been better to me than people I’ve been friends with for over a decade he’s instilled in me and keeps reminding me that I am more than what I have ever imagined for myself so I owe it all to him and my business success
What do you know today that you wish you would have known when you first got started as an entrepreneur?
The one thing that I wish I would have known earlier on was that everything is about the process instant gratification isn’t all it’s cracked up to be you have to lay the groundwork you have to build the relationships yourself you have to get dirty and do the hard work do you have to be your brand 24 seven and sometimes that means riding solo for elevation requires separation everybody can’t go on your journey with you
What advice would you give to an upcoming entrepreneur locally and internationally?
Never second-guess yourself if you find yourself wanting to reach out and see your dreams or into a field that you think will be prosperous for you don’t tell yourself what you can’t do before you actually do it the biggest step is the first step after that it will come to your new normal so you’re going to want to keep making certain steps and hurdles to see it even bigger out, so stay prayed up stay strong stay focused and when your time is for you you’ll be ready because you’ve done the work you’ve prepared yourself for that moment
