Violet Amoabeng’s journey is one of inspiration, resilience, and innovation—a story that radiates with the vibrant energy of an entrepreneurial spirit determined to transform the world. In 2014, Violet founded Skin Gourmet, a revolutionary skincare brand that goes beyond beauty, embodying her bold vision to leverage the rich natural resources of Ghana to create prosperity for all. Skin Gourmet isn’t your typical skincare brand. Imagine products so pure you can eat them, crafted directly from the wilds of Ghana. These raw, handmade creations reflect Violet’s commitment to sustainability, ethical sourcing, and empowering local communities. Every jar of Skin Gourmet is a tribute to the wonders of nature, the richness of Africa, and the potential of business to make a real difference. Violet’s journey began with a passion for using business as a force for good. She envisioned a world where skincare wasn’t just about looking good, but about doing good—where every product sold contributed to the well-being of people and the planet. Skin Gourmet’s mission, "Using edible skincare to create global prosperity," is rooted in the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing the importance of environmental sustainability, community empowerment, and ethical practices.
With over 13 years of experience spanning multiple countries, Violet has crafted a path that fuses entrepreneurship with purpose. Her commitment to ethical business practices has not only enhanced the livelihoods of her community partners but also positioned Skin Gourmet as a global beacon of sustainable development. From the wild shea butter and coconut oil sourced from local Ghanaian communities to the brand’s eco-friendly packaging, Skin Gourmet is a celebration of what Africa can offer the world.
But Violet's story doesn’t stop there. Before diving into the world of skincare, she honed her business acumen in various roles, including a significant stint as Head of Procurement at UT Bank in Ghana. Here, she mastered the art of organizational culture and product development, skills that would later fuel her entrepreneurial journey.
Her academic journey is just as impressive, with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Accounting, followed by an MBA from Shenandoah University. Her time at Oxford University, where she studied International Business, further broadened her horizons, preparing her for the global impact she would soon make.
Violet’s story is one of transformation—taking the wild, untamed ingredients of her homeland and turning them into products that nourish the skin and empower communities. Her mission to bridge economic gaps through sustainable business practices is more than a dream; it’s a reality she is building, one product at a time.
As Skin Gourmet continues to grow, Violet’s vision remains clear: to inspire change, empower communities, and make sustainability the norm. For young entrepreneurs and dreamers, Violet’s journey is a powerful reminder that with passion, purpose, and a commitment to making a difference, anything is possible.
