Uche Ofodile is a distinguished business leader with over 15 years of experience in executive roles, showcasing her expertise in steering transformative changes within blue-chip multinational companies. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at MTN Benin and Chairwoman of MTN Benin Mobile Money, Uche has been a driving force behind commercial growth and cultural change in the dynamic telecommunications industry. In her role as the CEO of Lonestar Cell MTN, Uche spearheaded a 5-year strategic plan to position the company as the digital partner of choice in Liberia. Her initiatives focused on reviving commercial performance, fostering innovation, and enhancing organizational effectiveness. Uche also played a pivotal role in establishing a culture of innovation and accountability, significantly strengthening employee engagement. Under her leadership, programs like MTN Women and a graduate executive and internship program were launched to attract and retain top local talent. Uche Ofodile holds a BA in Political Science from Ramapo College of New Jersey and has pursued Executive Education in Strategic Management at Columbia Business School. Her story is one of continuous leadership, innovation, and impactful contributions to the telecommunications industry in Africa.


Prior to her role at Lonestar Cell MTN, Uche held the position of Regional Head, Africa - Express Wi-Fi at Facebook. During her tenure, she drove the Express Wi-Fi initiative across the continent, addressing infrastructure, device, and affordability issues contributing to the digital divide.


Uche successfully turned around partners' financial performance, proving the viability of Express Wi-Fi in Africa. Her strategic planning efforts led to the expansion of Express Wi-Fi into new markets.


Uche Ofodile's impact extends to her role as CEO of Millicom/Tigo DRC, where she was recruited to transform the business in one of Africa's largest and most competitive markets. She rebuilt the business strategy, achieving rapid market share gains, 20% annual growth, and significant EBITDA improvement. Uche also initiated cultural shifts through programs like Tigo People and Tigo Women, diversifying the leadership team and re-energizing the workforce.


Before her international roles, Uche served as Chief Marketing Officer at Vodafone Ghana, where she played a key role in transforming the brand, doubling revenue, and elevating the company to the second-largest telecom operator in Ghana. Her achievements, including consecutive years of double-digit revenue growth, earned Vodafone Ghana prestigious awards such as "Telecommunications Company of the Year," "Best Telecom Brand," and "Most Admired Brand."
