Founder of T.B.E pageantry | Autism Advocate
Pageant & Stylist Coach | Motivational Speaker
Tsitsi Nyabako’s life is a testament to resilience, creativity, and a passion for empowering others. Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Tsitsi’s journey has spanned continents, challenges, and triumphs, all culminating in her becoming a force of inspiration. As the founder of Tsitsi’s Beauty Emporium (T.B.E), an Autism advocate, a stylist coach, and a motivational speaker, she has embraced every twist and turn with grace and determination. From the moment Tsitsi discovered her love for fashion and modelling, she knew she was destined to shine. Her journey began in Dallas, Texas, where she honed her craft at the renowned Barbizon School for Modelling and Acting. Graduating from the prestigious institution opened doors to the world of pageantry, and her first taste of success came in 2004 when she was crowned 2nd Princess at the Face of Zimbabwe Beauty Pageant in Dallas. This experience ignited a fire within her, and she never looked back. Moving to Toronto, Canada, in 2005, Tsitsi signed with Moro Talents, which launched her into the spotlight. She modeled for The Clothing Show, worked with talented designers, and graced the pages of Lou Lou magazine. Her image adorned billboards and subway ads across Toronto, and she even appeared in a music video featured on MTV Canada.
As Tsitsi’s career blossomed, she found love and moved to the UK, where she embraced marriage and motherhood. While her modelling career took a pause, her time away from the spotlight became an opportunity to grow and redefine her purpose. In 2022, Tsitsi’s passion for pageantry and mentoring led her to found Tsitsi’s Beauty Emporium (T.B.E). Through this platform, she guides aspiring models on their journeys, helping them navigate the industry with confidence and skill. That same year, she returned to the stage, representing Zimbabwe at the Miss/Mrs Africa UK and Ireland pageant, where she won the Mrs. Photogenic Award and became a dedicated advocate for Autism.
As a mother of two boys with special needs, Tsitsi’s personal experiences fuel her advocacy for Autism. She established a support group for mothers, creating a community of understanding and empowerment. In 2023 and 2024, her expertise and dedication earned her the role of official pageant coach for Miss/Mrs Africa UK & Ireland, where she coached winning queens and top contestants.
Her journey took another exciting turn in February 2024 when she stepped onto the stage as a motivational speaker at Princess Ashleigh’s Empowerment Event in London. Her story resonated deeply with the audience, inspiring countless individuals to pursue their dreams despite life’s challenges.
Tsitsi also shared her experiences as an Autism parent alongside her husband on Radio Africana’s "Embrace & Understand Diversity" show in September 2024. Their candid discussion shed light on the joys and challenges of raising children with special needs.
Balancing work, advocacy, and family life has not been without its challenges. Tsitsi openly shares her struggles with depression and the journey to healing through therapy, self-care, and mindfulness practices like journaling, meditation, and yoga. She has learned to ask for help and prioritize her well-being, lessons she now shares with others.
Looking back, Tsitsi reflects on the wisdom she’s gained: “Stop stressing about things beyond your control. Nothing is permanent, and being told ‘no’ can be a blessing in disguise.” From her roots in Zimbabwe to becoming a beacon of hope and empowerment in the UK, Tsitsi Nyabako’s story is one of perseverance, passion, and purpose. She continues to inspire others to embrace their journeys, chase their dreams, and make a meaningful impact in their communities.
