Tiana Atapattu Jayatunga | Canada | Crafted Captivating Content

Freelance Host & Creator @ Streets of Toronto

Speaker | RedCarpet Interviewer

Tiana Atapattu is a vibrant storyteller whose journey has taken her from the classrooms of Dubai to the bustling streets of Toronto, where she continues to redefine the way stories are told through her dynamic work in media and content creation. Her adventure began in 2017 as an Assistant Acting Teacher in Dubai, helping students hone their public speaking and theatrical skills for prestigious exams like the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). A year later, she dove into the world of fashion, working as a Marketing Coordinator and Host for Story of Fashion Magazine, interviewing designers and coordinating glamorous jewellery events. She simultaneously worked as a Marketing Representative for Wize, cultivating key client relationships and acting as a brand ambassador for this innovative company. After returning to Canada, Tiana continued her ascent into the media world, combining her passion for storytelling with her talent for video production. As a freelance creator, she has crafted captivating content for clients like Frontera Wines and Comfee Canada, mixing video, social media strategies, and her keen eye for creativity. Her work as a Social Video Reporter for blogTO solidified her as a powerhouse in short-form content creation. Over two years, she brought fresh, exciting stories to life on TikTok and Instagram, interviewing business owners, creating engaging IG Reels, and even walking the red carpets at TIFF to interview A-list celebrities.

By 2024, Tiana was producing weekly videos for Streets of Toronto, bringing vibrant stories from across the city to life. Whether she was exploring a heartwarming Armenian restaurant or discovering hidden gems like a luxury nail salon offering affordable services, her ability to capture the essence of Toronto’s unique stories was undeniable.

At the same time, she joined datenight as a Content Creator and Host, where she tackled playful topics like first-date budgets, unfaithful partners, and the latest events across Canada. Her charisma on screen made her a beloved face in the datenight community.

With a double major in Cinema Studies and Book & Media Studies from the University of Toronto, Tiana’s academic background complements her hands-on experience. From freelancing to documentary filmmaking, she’s worn many hats: Director of Photography (DOP), video editor, interviewer, and storyteller, all with an exciting flair for creativity and vision.

Tiana’s story is not just one of professional accomplishment—it’s about passion, creativity, and the relentless pursuit of her love for storytelling. Her journey continues to inspire young creators to step boldly into the world of media, unafraid to tell the stories that matter, and to do it in their own unique way.
