Tania Roa's journey commenced in Los Angeles, California, where her immigrant parents from Bogotá, Colombia, profoundly influenced her environmental awareness. Her mom's sustainable practices, rooted in cultural values and survival instincts rather than a formal environmentalist identity, laid the foundation for Tania's passion.

Armed with a Master of Science in Animals and Public Policy from Tufts University, Tania focuses on the intricate connections among animal, planet, and human health. She passionately advocates for the symbiosis of environmental and social justice, recognizing their inseparable nature.


Navigating her career path posed a significant hurdle as Tania sought a field aligning with her unique blend of passions. A transformative internship experience led her to environmental storytelling, aligning perfectly with her aspirations. Three years on, Tania remains unwavering in her commitment to this path. Her lessons for others underscore the importance of timing, urging individuals to embrace open-mindedness, curiosity, and passion in every endeavor. Tania's story exemplifies that one's moment will arrive, emphasizing the value of staying dedicated to personal and professional growth.


As a wildlife, environmental, and social justice advocate, Tania highlights the interconnections between climate and biodiversity crises and their solutions. She sheds light on their relation to the exploitation of people, especially underserved communities, and animals. Through her podcast, digital campaigns, social media engagement, articles, photography, and community outreach, she promotes community-led solutions to ecological and social challenges. Tania's educational journey includes a Master's from Tufts University and a Bachelor's in Psychology from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona. Her volunteering experiences, teaching engagements, and roles as a communications coordinator reflect her diverse skill set and commitment to making a positive impact.


In her various roles, including Communications + Outreach Coordinator at Sustainable Harvest International and Digital Communications Coordinator at Lady Freethinker, Tania manages online content, collaborates on climate justice stories, and cultivates supporter bases. Her work with Biodiversity for a Livable Climate and the Closing the Gap Podcast showcases her dedication to environmental awareness and social justice. With a wealth of experience, Tania continues her advocacy journey, aiming to stay in the non-profit sector and contribute to the intersectional work for years to come.
