Luxe Du Jour is a luxury consignment company offering an incredible selection of pre-loved, professionally authenticated designer handbags. Shoppers can choose to buy or sell pre-owned purses, rent bags for a short period of time, or send an item to the Luxe Bag Spa to be professionally restored by an in-house expert. I am a high school dropout and a proud founder of the million dollar company Luxe Du Jour! I was the black sheep of an immigrant family. They have dreams and aspirations for their kids and when you do not live up to becoming an engineer, doctor or lawyer, it was hard to find motivation within myself to follow my dreams and passion, but I failed a few times in various careers like finance, mortgages and even permanent beauty to finally lead me to follow one of my true passions, which was designer luxury. Starting from my basement with minimal capital, I was able to start off Luxe Du Jour by selling bags from my personal collection as well as my friends, and now it's turned into a multimillion dollar company.
What were the biggest initial hurdles and how did you overcome them?
Unfortunately, in 2019, I was scammed by someone I considered a close friend of mine for 14 years, who begged to work at my company. Her true intentions were made evident when she was learning my company secrets to start her own. She ended up stealing 5 Chanel bags owned by Luxe Du Jour to start selling on her own. Unfortunately, I ended up shouldering the cost of those bags. I had to rebuild my ability to trust and taught me to keep work and friendship separate.

What advice would you give to an upcoming youth or talents locally and internationally?
If you choose to have a business partner, make sure they have the same work ethic as you. You want to make sure your vision aligns and there is open and honest communication. There should always be a balance and everyone should be bringing value and something to the table. Surround yourself with positive people that are on the same path as you!
