Tamar Kratter’s journey is a masterclass in entrepreneurship, creativity, and resilience, rooted deeply in her passion for art and design. As the founder and owner of SoHo Art & Custom Framing, Tamar has transformed her love for creativity into one of the most respected framing stores in Toronto, nestled in the heart of Roncesvalles Village. Since its inception in May 2004, SoHo has been a cornerstone for homeowners, artists, and interior designers looking to capture their style and personality through custom framing. With a background in both art and project management, Tamar has built a thriving business that’s not just about framing—it’s about storytelling through design. Her years of expertise ensure that every piece that leaves SoHo carries a unique touch, reflecting the individuality of each client. Whether it’s a treasured family portrait or a statement piece for an interior design project, Tamar and her team embrace the creative process with skill and enthusiasm, ensuring that the highest standards of custom work and conservation are always met. Their extensive experience guarantees a knowledgeable approach to every project, making SoHo a trusted destination for anyone seeking a personal touch in art and framing. What sets SoHo apart is not just the quality of work but also Tamar’s commitment to fair pricing and customer satisfaction. With over a decade in business and thousands of happy clients, SoHo continues to be a go-to spot for museum-quality framing, even earning a spot in BlogTO’s list of top 10 framing stores in Toronto. The team prides itself on delivering unique designs, working closely with local artists, and always being on the lookout for fresh talent to feature in the gallery. It’s this dedication to both community and craftsmanship that has solidified SoHo’s place as a leader in the industry.

But Tamar's entrepreneurial spirit extends far beyond SoHo. She’s a certified project manager with a dynamic career that includes roles such as a project manager at CoreActive in New York City, managing large-scale websites for art and advertising companies, and overseeing ground handling services at Toronto Pearson International Airport. Her diverse skill set has allowed her to seamlessly transition between industries, from the aviation sector to founding The Big Red Crown Company, which designed and distributed "Keep Calm and Carry On" products across North America.

Tamar's story doesn’t stop at business. As a board member of Food 4 Kids, she has been instrumental in alleviating child hunger in Mississauga, helping provide healthy meals to children from low-income families. She’s also been an active fundraiser at James S Bell Middle School, organizing events to support the local community.

Her story is one of vision, versatility, and relentless pursuit of excellence. Tamar Kratter’s legacy is more than just the businesses she’s built—it's the impact she’s had on her community and the inspiration she provides for future generations of entrepreneurs.

Whether through her artistry, business ventures, or philanthropy, Tamar has shown that with passion and creativity, you can turn your dreams into reality. For young readers and aspiring entrepreneurs, Tamar's journey is a shining example of how one can blend talent and tenacity to create something truly exceptional.
