Siuleen Leibl | Canada | Hand-Rolled Ice Cream

Founder - Milksmith Inc | Entrepreneur

Siuleen Leibl’s journey is as vibrant and imaginative as the delightful treats she creates. As the visionary behind Milksmith Ice Cream, she set out to redefine the way we think about indulgence, combining innovation, community, and joy into every scoop. With her Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications from the University of Minnesota, Siuleen’s entrepreneurial story is not just about ice cream—it’s about building connections and experiences that last. In 2019, Siuleen opened the doors of Milksmith in the heart of Corydon Village, with a bubblegum-pink entrance that quickly became a beacon for ice cream lovers. Known for its hand-rolled ice cream and a menu that pushes the boundaries of dessert, Milksmith soon became more than just a place to grab a treat—it became a community hub where local ingredients and artisans were celebrated. From sourcing honey from local farms to collaborating with beloved Manitoba institutions like Jeanne’s Bakery, Siuleen’s vision for Milksmith was rooted in supporting and elevating local businesses. But the journey didn’t stop there. Siuleen’s innovative mindset led to a game-changing partnership with Oma’s Bakeshop in North Kildonan, another local treasure.

When the iconic bakery needed to revitalize its beloved ice cream window, Siuleen saw the perfect opportunity. Through this collaboration, she brought Milksmith’s signature rolled ice cream—along with exclusive creations like cinnamon bun parfaits and ice cream sandwiches using Oma’s famous cookies—to an entirely new audience. This partnership symbolized more than just a business deal—it was a celebration of local entrepreneurship and a testament to Siuleen’s commitment to her community.

Milksmith’s creations are known for their Instagram-worthy flair. From Hong Kong-style bubble waffles to tacos made from ice cream, Siuleen’s team constantly dreams up new ways to surprise and delight their customers. Whether it’s the elote ice cream, shaped like a corn cob for Cinco de Mayo, or foam-topped milkshakes that seem to defy gravity, Milksmith is where imagination runs wild, and the results are always delicious.

For Siuleen, the true magic lies in the memories that Milksmith helps create. She believes that food has the power to connect people, evoke emotion, and transport us back to our happiest moments. That’s why every item on the menu is crafted not just with high-quality ingredients, but with a sense of nostalgia and wonder.

Her journey shows that through passion, creativity, and community support, small businesses can thrive together. Milksmith’s success is more than the result of hard work—it’s a celebration of Siuleen’s belief that when people come together, something magical happens.
