Sinikiwe Kademaunga, a remarkable individual born without hands, knees, or feet, defies all odds with an unwavering spirit and an inspiring story of resilience. Despite facing cultural, social, and economic barriers throughout her life, Sinikiwe has emerged as a beacon of confidence and motivation. Sinikiwe holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Cape Town, showcasing her determination to overcome challenges and pursue education. Her accomplishments extend beyond academia, as she is an award-winning Confidence Coach, Social Worker, YouTube Content Creator, and Inspirational Speaker.
Being part of the YouTube Black Voices Fund class of 2023 highlights Sinikiwe's impact in the digital space, where she shares her journey and empowers others with her story. Additionally, she is a married mother of a 4-month-old baby boy, exemplifying her ability to navigate various aspects of life with grace and resilience. In her role as a Confidence Coach since August 2019, Sinikiwe offers services such as building confidence, addressing stage fright, overcoming low self-esteem, and tackling self-doubt. Sinikiwe's experience as a Social Work Intern at New Somerset Hospital in Cape Town involved handling complex responsibilities, including suicidal risk assessment, termination of pregnancy precounseling, and psychosocial assessment in the psychiatry department. Her work extended to running support groups with social work interns, showcasing her commitment to mental health and community well-being.
As a Disability Activist Blogger, Sinikiwe runs the blog "Life in the Shoes of a Short Girl," where she shares her personal experiences, challenges, and achievements related to disability. Through her online presence, she aims to raise awareness about disability issues spanning social, economic, political, and academic spheres. Sinikiwe's journey also includes roles at Astra Jewish Sheltered Empowerment, Maitland Cottage Hospital, and Chaeli Campaign, where she provided counseling services and support to individuals with disabilities.
