Selam Debs | Canada | Pay It Forward

Antiracism Educator | Anti-Oppression Coach | social Justice Advocate

Yoga Coach | Business Owner: Entrepreneur

Meet Selam Debs, a Black Ethiopian powerhouse, proudly navigating the world as an antiracism educator, anti-oppression coach, and social justice advocate. She passionately dismantles anti-Black racism, anti-Indigenous racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, and champions LGBTQ2S+ and disability rights through an intersectional lens.

As the founder of Juici Yoga, Selam wears multiple hats, serving as a yoga and meditation instructor, restorative yoga teacher trainer, holistic life coach, reiki master, and Lululemon Ambassador. However, at her core, she identifies first and foremost as a mother, singer, songwriter, poet, and a practitioner of self-acceptance, self-love, and radical compassion.

Selam's antiracism work is deeply rooted in the acknowledgment and identification of the insidiousness of white supremacy. She believes in the necessity of undoing, unlearning, and re-educating white communities to support the healing journey for racialized communities.

Her online presence (@selamdebs) reflects her commitment to change, with platforms on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter showcasing her journey as an Antiracism Coach & Consultant. Selam has been a driving force behind The Anti-Racism Collective Community, specializing in anti-Black racism, anti-oppression, and anti-racism training. She is the brilliant mind behind The Anti-Racism Course, designed to address Canadian history, whiteness, white privilege, implicit bias, systemic racism, allyship, and antiracism.

Beyond her advocacy, Selam has seamlessly integrated yoga and wellness into her mission. Juici Yoga, located at 826 King St. N Suite#21, Waterloo, ON, N2J 4G8, is her brainchild, where she encourages individuals to live their most inspired, influential, and innovative lives on and off the mat.

Selam's journey as a yoga teacher began in 2014, and she has since become a Lululemon Ambassador, contributing to the yoga community in Waterloo, Ontario. She is also the Owner and Director of Community of Hearts Yoga, where yoga and hearts meet in a harmonious blend.

Her inspirational speaking engagements, particularly as part of the Women's Committee, reflect her commitment to inspiring young minds. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Michael Jackson, Oprah, and Malala Yousefzai, Selam encourages young individuals to dream big, work passionately, and pay it forward.

Selam's impact extends further into the education field, where she serves as a Yoga & Wellness Professional. As the Creator and Founder of SelamLoveWellness, she provides Ashtanga-Inspired Yoga, meditation sessions, and Reiki healing treatments, promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

In the field of Antiracism Education, Selam's journey includes founding and creating The Antiracism Course. Her course package includes six video modules, six PDF guidebooks, live coaching calls, and comprehensive coverage of essential antiracism topics.

Selam's story is one of resilience, triumph over adversity, and a commitment to creating positive change. From her early experiences of systemic racism, personal trauma, and motherhood, she emerged as a tenacious advocate for justice, equality, and well-being. Her multifaceted approach, combining antiracism advocacy, yoga, and holistic wellness, exemplifies her dedication to fostering a more compassionate and inclusive world.
