Padmond Jung | Ghana & Germany | Start Small

Entrepreneur | Philanthropist | International Trade Strategist My name is Padmond Jung. I was born in Ghana, in 1985. But later I was adopted by my German parents and grew up here in Germany from 1999 to present. I studied logistics and worked many years (over 15yrs) for different and large German companies. My goal was always to start my own company, so working for other businesses in my field of interest was a way to develop my craft and knowledge. I have since started a few startups and an organization dear to my heart to give back to my ecosystem in Ghana (my motherland). What were the biggest initial hurdles and how did you overcome them? Getting finance for my startup was one of the biggest struggles. Here in Germany, the struggle continues – raising first round investment. It’s not a government thing, but the trust in young minds. Moving forward, my way around this hurdle was, I started small instead of going all in, I basically used my own finances to build my businesses. I was working for other companies while I was building my businesses. In addition, I added some other income streams by getting more knowledge about things that I really like. Through that I was able to build a trading and investing company. So absolutely, it’s advisable to sometimes just keep your dreams, take other paths to reach those dreams.

Currently I am reading just two books: Money: Master the game Beating the Street What advice would you give to an upcoming youth or talents locally and internationally? My advice to the upcoming youth is that don’t limit yourself. Nowadays, all you need is your smartphone to start your new or next venture. So don’t undermine your abilities. Your phone could or can be your starting point. You don’t need a huge amount of money. Your skill is your budget.
