Nandipha Ngcobo, is already making waves in the world of Supply Chain Management (SCM). After matriculating from Dr. A.D Lazarus Secondary School in 2018, she pursued her passion at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), earning her Bachelor's and Honours degrees in Supply Chain Management. Now, she's working towards her Master of Commerce in SCM. But Nandipha's journey is not just about academic achievements. Her skills extend beyond the classroom, with certifications in Foundation Mathematics, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, Lean Six Sigma, and Emotional Intelligence. She began her career as a cashier at Shell Garage in 2019 and transitioned to Transnet Port Terminal in 2022. Within a year and a half, she advanced to Chief Administrator in Enterprise and Supplier Development and became a Brand Ambassador for TPT. Nandipha's motivation in SCM stems from its significant economic impact, driving growth, job creation, and transformation in disadvantaged communities. Despite challenges in balancing work and studies, she mastered time management, joined study groups, and sought guidance to succeed.


Her advice to high schoolers? Explore career options like SCM that are crucial to the economy. She emphasizes the importance of career guidance and staying informed about economic trends. Nandipha's love for her job lies in the exposure to diverse projects and businesses, and she thrives on learning and solving new challenges daily.


Balancing work and personal life is key for Nandipha, who believes in the principle of time management to ensure peak performance. She acknowledges that real-world expectations often differ from initial perceptions, advocating for adaptability and resilience.


For graduates facing a tough job market, Nandipha advises broadening the job search, tailoring applications, gaining practical experience through volunteering, and continuously learning. Networking and staying positive are essential, as setbacks are temporary and each rejection an opportunity to learn.
