Maissa isn’t just a filmmaker—she’s a trailblazer, creating space for diverse voices in the industry. In 2023, her talent and drive earned her a coveted spot in Netflix-Banff’s Diversity of Voices Initiative at the Banff World Media Festival, a testament to her rising star status. And it didn’t stop there—she was also honored as ACTRA Ottawa’s Woman of the Year in 2024.
But Maissa’s story is only just beginning. With exciting projects like her upcoming television comedy series, The Arranged Marriage, developed in partnership with GAPC Entertainment and Vérité Films, and her new web series, Touch, she’s set to continue making waves.
