Product Manager | P.R Consultant with a Love for People, Products, and Storytelling
My name is Joyce Imiegha. I am a passionate Product Manager and Public Relations consultant with a strong focus on people, products, and storytelling. My dedication to providing exceptional user experience and documenting personal stories of business leaders has led me to explore both Product Management and Public Relations.
I have an impressive track record of working with creatives, entrepreneurs, and organizations across various industries. My recent pivot into tech-focused PR reflects my desire to help African founders and startups convey their unique purpose and passions through the power of storytelling. I believe that storytelling can deeply connect with people and communities, and I have successfully worked with notable founders and startups in Africa to tell their stories through my P.R agency, Reneé.
My passion for creating innovative products that positively impact people's lives led me to transition into Product Management a year ago. I have consistently developed skills relevant to the role and am driven to solve complex problems and improve the user experience. I approach my work with a growth mindset, continuously challenging myself to achieve the best possible outcomes for the company and its users. Currently studying for a Master's degree in Psychology at Aston University in the United Kingdom, my interest in improving the well-being of people and understanding human behavior has led me to explore psychology. Through my studies, I am gaining a deep understanding of how the human mind works and how it influences behavior. I believe that psychological research and interventions can significantly impact people's lives, from improving mental health to enhancing interpersonal relationships and increasing overall happiness and well-being.
What were the biggest initial hurdles you faced and how did you overcome them?
My work can be both exciting and challenging, given my diverse interests and passions. However, I have developed resilience and a drive to achieve my goals, prioritizing self-care along the way. I acknowledge the support of my friends, family, colleagues, and other key people in my life, recognizing that they have been instrumental in my journey.
What advice do you have for young people locally and internationally who are just starting out in their careers or pursuing their passions?
Throughout my journey, I have learned a number of valuable lessons that have helped shape my personal and professional growth. One of the most important lessons I have learned is the importance of accountability, both to myself and to others. Taking responsibility for my actions and decisions has allowed me to build trust with those around me and achieve my goals with integrity.
Another key lesson I have learned is the value of commitment and sticking to my goals and aspirations even when faced with challenges. This has helped me achieve success in both my personal and professional life.
In addition, I have learned the importance of discipline, which requires consistent effort and focus to achieve success.
By developing habits of discipline, I have been able to stay on track and accomplish my goals.
I have also learned the importance of communication, adaptability, and resilience. Being able to communicate effectively has been critical in both my personal and professional relationships. Being adaptable and resilient has allowed me to navigate through unexpected changes and challenges with greater ease.
Furthermore, I have learned the benefits of taking risks, seeking out new opportunities, and embracing change. These experiences have enabled me to grow and learn in new and exciting ways. By reflecting on these lessons and applying them to my life and work, I can continue to grow and thrive in all that I do.
