I was surrounded by hard working role models. My mother, who won two golden globe awards, one being best actress in a dramatic series (Linda Cristal). One uncle who also won two Academy awards as a cinematographer, and another uncle became a billionaire in real estate. I chose a path of changing the world and have created a number of companies designed to unite the world. In the case of SmartGuy.com, to connect 1500 businesses, one per category, in massive local referral networks.
With the pandemic, millions of small business owners are struggling and no longer can rely on the walk by and other easy ways to generate business. Our goal is to connect billions of small business owners together in local city referral networks allowing them to generate an ongoing flow of new customers.
What were the biggest initial hurdles and how did you overcome them?
People are too busy to meet and greet other like minded individuals, especially as a result of this pandemic. SmartGuy serves to do that (and other benefits) automatically.
What books are you currently reading?
I focus more on reading news, economy and social issues - rather than books
What do you know today that you wish you would have known when you first got started?
I was lucky to have great parents and mentors. I would say work hard now! It is easier to be poor when you're young than poor when you're old. When you are poor and young, you can still get by, But when you're poor and old, it's much harder.
What advice would you give to an upcoming youth or talents locally and internationally?
Try to involve yourself in a business that has these three keys: Enjoy doing it, you're good at it and it can make money!
