CEO of Jamad Basketball Camps - Giving Back & Community Empowerment

Former Basketball Player @ Emmanuel College

Somali Women's National Basketball Team

Jamad Fiin is a force of nature on and off the basketball court. As a senior at Emmanuel College and the CEO of Jamad Basketball Camps, she’s not just dribbling through life—she’s breaking barriers and inspiring the next generation of athletes. Jamad's journey began with a passion for basketball, which she transformed into a powerful platform for change. Her story is one of resilience, ambition, and an unshakable commitment to empowering young girls. In 2019, Jamad took a bold step by founding Jamad Basketball Camps, free training sessions aimed at boosting the confidence and skills of young Muslim girls across the United States. Starting in her hometown of Boston, her camps quickly expanded to cities like Columbus, Minneapolis, and even Toronto, where she teamed up with none other than Drake to host an unforgettable camp at the OVO Centre.

Jamad’s influence doesn’t stop at the basketball court. As a student-athlete, she led the Emmanuel College Women's Basketball Team to multiple championships and NCAA DIII tournament appearances, all while balancing her academic pursuits in biology and business.

Her leadership skills extended to the Somali National Women's Basketball Team, where she captained her teammates through international FIBA tournaments. Off the court, Jamad’s impact is equally impressive. Her work as a research intern at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute allowed her to contribute to groundbreaking cancer research, showcasing her dedication to both sports and science.

But perhaps her most profound contribution is through the Help Me Learn Academy, a school she co-founded in Somalia with her mother. This academy provides free education, food, and sports opportunities to orphaned children, addressing the dire need for primary education in their home village of Qardho.

Jamad Fiin is not just an athlete or an entrepreneur—she’s a trailblazer, a role model, and a beacon of hope for young girls everywhere. Her journey is a testament to the power of dreams, the importance of representation, and the impact one person can make when they lead with passion and purpose.
