Ibukun Olubiyi | Nigeria & Canada | Rich Cultural Experiences

Owner/Operator at Chick-fil-A Tanger Ottawa | Entrepreneur

Ibukun Olubiyi’s journey from Lagos to Ottawa is nothing short of a global adventure filled with passion, ambition, and a heart for community. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, and having lived in London and Dublin, Ibukun's early years were steeped in rich cultural experiences that ignited her love for diverse culinary and service traditions. Her life took a defining turn during her university days at McMaster University in Canada. In 2012, while participating in a transformative Habitat for Humanity trip to New Orleans, Ibukun encountered Chick-fil-A for the first time. What started as a simple meal became a pivotal moment when she was blown away by the exceptional service and hospitality. This experience planted the seed for her future in the restaurant industry. After earning her degree in sociology, Ibukun embraced her new home in Ottawa, where she pursued a certificate in human resources management at Algonquin College. She didn’t stop there; her quest for knowledge led her to the prestigious Loughborough University in the UK, where she completed an MBA in 2019, all while maintaining her roots in Ottawa.

Now, as the Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Tanger Ottawa, Ibukun is on a mission to bring her vision to life. Set to open its doors in Summer 2024, her Chick-fil-A restaurant promises more than just delicious food; it’s a cornerstone of her commitment to exceptional service and community spirit. Ibukun’s dedication to building a legacy is evident in her plans to create a vibrant, supportive workplace for her team of over 100 members, offering higher wages, mentorship, and life coaching.

Ibukun's influence extends beyond the restaurant. Through the Chick-fil-A Shared Table™ food donation program, she aims to address local needs and foster community connections. Her vision also includes active involvement in local boards and Ottawa business organizations, ensuring her impact resonates throughout the city. For Ibukun, Chick-fil-A Tanger Ottawa is not just a restaurant—it's a catalyst for positive change, a hub of inspiration, and a testament to the power of exceptional service. She’s driven to win the hearts of the Kanata community, addressing local challenges, and creating a lasting impact that will be remembered for years to come.
