Francine Mbvoumbo is a beacon of empowerment and community building, a leader who has dedicated her life to fostering intergenerational connections and uplifting women across various walks of life. As the founder of Mothers to Daughters (M2D), Francine has created a thriving network that connects over 3,000 women, spanning Baby Boomers, Gen X, and Millennials. M2D is more than just a community; it’s a movement aimed at bridging generational divides through mentorship, workshops, and networking events. With a firm belief in the power of women to create lasting legacies, Francine’s vision is to empower young women to step outside their comfort zones and seek guidance from experienced mentors. Inspired by her own journey as an immigrant, Francine’s leadership has driven M2D to become a powerhouse of connection, offering support to women in areas like career development, life transitions, and personal growth. Through her work, she continues to build a legacy of empowerment, connection, and lasting impact.
Francine’s dedication to giving back has been recognized nationally. She was named one of Canada's 2020 Top 100 Black Women to Watch, a 2021 Black Rising Leader, and a recipient of the 2022 Legacy Awards. Her role as a Global Peace Ambassador, awarded by the Waterfront Awards in 2023, further cements her influence and commitment to positive change. Beyond M2D, Francine is deeply involved in mentoring newcomers, supporting youth workforce readiness, and engaging in various community-focused initiatives. Her passions for reading, meditation, and wellness blend seamlessly with her work, driving her to inspire others not only in her professional life but in every aspect of her community engagement.
In partnership with Beckie Di Leo, Francine has also co-organized the Mentors Mixer, a large networking event combining mentoring, art, and fashion. This event has become a symbol of collaboration and empowerment, bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds. The next event, set for May 15, 2025, at Stackt Market in Toronto, promises to be a landmark moment in the ongoing journey of building connections and fostering empowerment.
Amid all her community work, Francine’s business expertise remains a key part of her story. With a background in retail banking, wealth management, and fintech, she now channels her knowledge as a consultant helping small businesses regain their strategic direction. Having started her career at RBC, where she excelled in multiple client-facing roles and spearheaded a digital adoption project, Francine now focuses on helping businesses across Canada and the U.S. find new pathways to success.
