Dr. Vanessa Aseye Mensah-Kabu's journey is one of brilliance, determination, and a passion for making a difference in healthcare. At just 22 years old, she became Ghana's youngest Medical Doctor, a title that set the stage for her remarkable career. A graduate of Dalian Medical University in China, where she earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Vanessa was more than just an exceptional student. During her time there, she participated in various activities, including a Mock UN Conference, where she represented Afghanistan and led her team to victory, earning the award for Best Represented Country. Now, with over seven years of medical experience, Dr. Mensah-Kabu has made her mark across some of Ghana’s most renowned hospitals. Her journey began at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, followed by stints at 37 Military Hospital and Lekma Hospital. Today, she serves as a dedicated Medical Officer at the West African Rescue Association, where she passionately manages patient care and works tirelessly to improve health outcomes in the region.
Vanessa’s impact extends far beyond the clinic. In 2019, she was honored with the prestigious Ghana Outstanding Woman Award in Health and recognized as an XWAC Honorary Winner in Health. Her work in health awareness, coupled with her advocacy for women and girls, has solidified her as not just a medical professional but a trailblazer in public health education.
Balancing her medical career with a love for fashion and media, Vanessa has become a well-known television personality, using her platform to educate the public about health and wellness. Her passion for creating awareness through various initiatives, combined with her unique flair for fashion and modeling, makes her stand out in the medical field.
