Ally Petitti Dives | Los Angeles | Authentic Version

Digital Content Creator | Podcast Host | Mental Health Advocate

I am originally from Westchester, NY. I knew I wanted to move to Los Angeles and have a career in the entertainment industry since I was 8 years old. I moved to LA when I was 18 to go to USC, my dream school. I graduated from college in 2020 and have worked in the music industry for the last 4 years. I have struggled with my mental health and physical health for the last few years especially. I currently host a podcast called Trying To Figure It Out, which I started with the goal of sharing my personal life stories and creating a space for others who might relate. The podcast focuses on everything from mental health, to growing up in a split household, to friendships, relationships, growing up, sexuality, body positivity, and other topics that we are all just ‘trying to figure out.’ With solo episodes and guests, we dive into a wide range of topics and aim to help anyone who might be going through something similar or who has gone through something similar to feel that they are not alone.

What were the biggest initial hurdles and how did you overcome them? I have been through a lot in my life from divorced parents, mental health struggles, abusive relationships, toxic friendships and more. I have always been open about my experiences and my stories. I never hold back when talking to friends or family and have been in therapy for years. After going through one of the hardest years of my life I ended up leaving my job at the time and spending a few months trying to decide what would be next for me. In that time, I realized how much I wanted to do something with my experiences and share them. I have overcome so much just by sharing. I always say that sharing is healing and through my podcast Trying To Figure It Out I have been able to grow and learn so much more about myself.

Any advice to an upcoming youth or talents locally and internationally?

I would say my biggest piece of advice is to be the most authentic version of yourself, don’t hold back and be confident. If you believe in yourself others will believe in you too.
