I was born to Ghanaian parents, but I grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, one of the toughest cities in the world. As a child, I attended military school and moved back to Ghana during high school. Growing up, I developed a keen interest in sports and was particularly good at basketball. However, I wasn't tall or athletic built, so I relied on my quickness and wittiness to excel on the court.

Unfortunately, my small stature also made me an easy target for bullies on the basketball court, which affected my playing time. Determined not to let my physical limitations hold me back, I started hitting the gym and building my strength and size. While on this journey, I suffered an injury during a game that left me unable to play for a year. This setback made me realize that I needed to focus on building my physique rather than just relying on my basketball skills.

As I started seeing results in the gym, my passion for fitness grew, and I began helping my teammates and friends with their workouts. Soon enough, I found myself coaching others and sharing my knowledge and expertise with those around me. Eventually, this passion for fitness coaching turned into a career that I am still pursuing today.

What were the biggest initial hurdles you faced and how did you overcome them?

Being an entrepreneur in the fitness industry has its challenges. You must stay up-to-date with the latest fitness trends, constantly learn and adapt to new technologies, and manage your business effectively. However, the satisfaction that comes with helping others achieve their fitness goals makes it all worth it.

What advice do you have for young people locally and internationally who are just starting out in their careers or pursuing their passions?

My advice to anyone pursuing their passion is to never give up, even when things get tough. Setbacks and obstacles are inevitable, but it's how you handle them that defines your success. Stay focused, work hard, and always be open to learning new things. With determination and persistence, you can turn your passion into a successful career.
