Benny Jayden Ablordey | Ghana | Progress & Purpose!

Benny Jayden Ablordey is my name. I am a proud Ghanaian and professionally known as Africa’s Young Cinema Engineering Entrepreneur. I consider myself as a serial Entrepreneur, an Author, a Humanitarian, an Investor and Aviation Enthusiast. From very humble beginnings, I am a very practical, realistic and a down-to-earth young entrepreneur and the founder & Chief Executive Officer of Berries Tech Limited (Africa’s Cinema Solutions), a subsidiary of Berries Group, building strategic global business partners and international alliance all around the globe to help shape and develop Africa.

What ignited the spark in me to start a new business venture like our Cinema Installations and Engineering company was the edge and thirst I had wanting to help solve a serious media crises and lapse which is collapsing our cinema and movie market in Africa precisely starting with our Country Ghana. It was like a necessity laid on me as the only man who could help solve this problem. Gone were the days we used to have quite a number of commercial cinemas to help grow our movie and theater industry but today they are nothing to write home about and are all dilapidated and that’s one of the main reasons why we set up a cinema engineering company to help solve that problem because outsourcing contracts to foreign nations precisely the Western, Europe and Asian market are too expensive in this sector of the industry and we intend making it easier and flexible as Africans with the same world standard services. Our real estate market is also confronted with new innovation challenges to help boost the modern houses we put up today and as such we thought it great to introduce ultra modern home cinema and home technology automation facilities into this sector of the industry to help boost that market. This encouraged us to build strong strategic global business partners and international alliance all around the globe who have been in this sector of business for over 20 years and more to help shape and develop Africa. In the quest to helping solve these mentioned challenges, the idea for our business came about.

Berries Group is one of the fast growing and emerging African conglomerate with several subsidiaries across the world industrial field of Information Technology and Communication, Cinematic Engineering, Internet & Telecommunication, Aviation, Media (Media Streaming, Entertainment, Filming, Radio and Television), Professional Audio Visual Solutions, Product Development, Hospitality and Real Estates. Berries Tech Limited. (alias Berries Home Cinemas) is our flagship brand and a Multi-National and a worldwide cinema installation and engineering Corporation with the aim of providing a friendly informative, entertaining and new age technological engineering advancements in the Cinema and theatre industry. Berries Tech Limited is Ghana’s first premium Home Cinema engineering and automation integration company. Berries Tech Limited stands to be Ghana’s first Home Cinema Installation and engineering firm. As a good leader, I know what it takes to get a Job done. My motto still remains ‘’Get It Done, Don’t Make Excuses, and Learn to Work with What You Have’’ pursuing life with gusto, vitality, and courage.

What were the biggest initial hurdles to building your business and how did you overcome them?

There were quite a number of hurdles that confronted us as a new business in Ghana and the biggest ones included lack of Investor opportunities to help us expand and lack of easy accessibility to business loan or facility opportunities to pre-finance projects. But in solving this, we made sure of delivering excellent customer service with all our initial home cinema projects which won us quite a good number of recommendations to get more projects and invest the capital back into the business in the hope to expand.

What books are you currently reading? And your recommendation for entrepreneurs to read?

I am currently reading the ‘’Rules of Work’’ by Templar and ‘’Independently Wealthy’’ (How to build financial security in the New Economic Era) by Goodman as well as my upcoming Prosperity journal for entrepreneurs ‘’The Discovery’’ (Road map to becoming a Successful Entrepreneur) by Benny Jayden which is soon to be released later in the year. These are books that I will recommend to Entrepreneurs to read.

Did you ever deal with contention from your family and friends concerning your entrepreneurial pursuits?

How did you handle it? What would you do differently in hindsight?

Fortunately for me, I have never dealt with any contention from my family and friends concerning the pursuit of my entrepreneurial aspirations but only got support and encouragement which keeps catapulting me into wanting to achieve more in any industry I find myself.

What would you say was the single most influential factor in your business success?

I believe that there’s no such thing as luck but its when series of preparation gets to meet opportunity. I will say this has been the most influential factor in my business success. Also, always and constantly yielding myself to growth, wanting to always be better than the man I saw in my mirror yesterday has been a great factor as well contributing to my business success.

What do you know today that you wish you would have known when you first got started as an entrepreneur?

I am glad I have more knowledge in Finance and Revenue Management today than I did when I started business and wished I had more knowledge on how to effectively manage my business finances much more earlier.

What advice would you give to an upcoming entrepreneur locally and internationally?

My advice to any upcoming entrepreneur is excepts of the 21 lessons in my upcoming book ‘’The Discovery’’ which is for you to know that there's time for everything under the sun. We all walk a different path of progress and purpose. Don't be quick to be swayed by the steps another fellow or abandon the faith in your steps simply because its going a different path. Everyone is destined for a destination. Find your purpose and build strong faith and principles to walk it progress. Though it may tarry, it will surely come. Don't loose yourself and faith in reaching that progress of purpose. Many at times just when we are almost close to closure, we give up. Keep walking, you are not lost. It's just a different path. Also know that, the road to success and the road to failure are almost exactly the same. Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it. Opportunities don't happen, you have to keep creating them.
