I am Louise Mariusse, a French fashion designer from Paris, now based in Miami Beach. After studying at one of the renowned fashion school "Esmod", I worked in prestigious fashion houses, "Cacharel" in Paris and "Max Chaoul" in Lyon. I opened my first clothing design company in the South of France at 20 years old, called "Mademoiselle L" with my mom (wedding dresses). In 2014, I crossed the Atlantic to make my dream comes true : relocating to USA. Miami Beach has been a wonderful source of inspiration and a great place to live. With the amazing energy and creativity - I decided to start a new project and startup: "Mademoiselle Louise", a swimwear line and another collection - honeymoon swimsuits. I do all my designs handmade in my workshop with my great team! This is the perfect mix - match between my life in France and my actual life in the USA.
Did you ever deal with contention from your family and friends concerning your entrepreneurial pursuits?
How did you handle it? What would you do differently in hindsight?
I'm really lucky because my family and my friends pushed me to grown up day after day, and it's really important to be supported when you create your own business, especially in another country.
What would you say was the single most influential factor in your business success?
For me, patience and determination is the only rules to achieve your goal, in business but also in life.
What advice would you give to an upcoming young and old entrepreneur locally and internationally?
Be really relaxed and stay positive, that makes a big difference networking - when reaching out to your potential stakeholders.
