Andrea Lisbona | New York | Grow IN ADVERSITY!!

https://touchland.com I was born in Barcelona and but relocated to New York. My father inspired me tremendously - solving the world’s problems by pursuing entrepreneurship. Growing up I watched my father work on his business he launched at the age of 24, struggling with it and pushing on the idea. Carrying this into my life, my hand sanitizer company started after I tested several sanitizers and could not help but notice their poor design, lack of technology, and consumption of too much water. Such problems led me to start working on the Touchland products. Touchland, has revolutionised the traditional hand sanitizer, reinventing it into a colourful, convenient design with great smells! That’s not all -these funky fragrances are kind on your skin, leaving your hands smooth & hydrated whilst helping the planet by eliminating the need to wash your hands as often, thus using less water - amazing!

What ignited the spark in you to start a new business venture or to make significant changes in an existing business?

How did the idea for your business come about?

We wanted to reinvent the simplest hygiene habit that keeps you healthy: hand hygiene. We have created the most beautiful, pleasing, cost-efficient & smart hand sanitizer solution that empowers people to live without fears of interacting with the world.

What were the biggest initial hurdles to building your business and how did you overcome them? The biggest hurdles was turning an idea / a concept in my mind into a reality and a physical product. There were many obstacles and external variables that we could not control but affected directly to the process of launching a product.

Did you ever deal with contention from your family and friends concerning your entrepreneurial pursuits?

How did you handle it? What would you do differently in hindsight? Never, I was born in an entrepreneurial environment, my father created his first company when he was 24 like me and I always understood what it takes to be an entrepreneur: the risk, the uncertainty, the fear, etc; but on top of that, the satisfaction of creating something from zero and watching it grow.

What would you say was the single most influential factor in your business success? Pure perseverance. I never give up when I truly believe in something. That's key to keep pushing your dreams and not letting others affect your mission.

What do you know today that you wish you would have known when you first got started as an entrepreneur? Choose well your partners. Specially when you launch a consumer product, select carefully those companies that will partner with you because in the supply chain you need to ensure that all of the different parts involved will be able to accomplish what they committed.

What advice would you give to an upcoming young and old entrepreneur locally and internationally? To fight for your dreams and do not give up when adversity comes. Real entrepreneurs are those who grow in adversity. Being a real entrepreneur means working & going through hard times for the first years in a way that most people would quite. So from my advice, I would encourage people to persevere, to work hard & think long term. In the end, hard work pays off.

DON'T give up!!!!
